  • Hospet: Also known as Hosapete, the city is close to the famous Hampi ruins. The Vijayanagara Empire was divided into twin cities, Hampi and Hospet. The intersection of the modern world and the past makes Hospet one of the best places on this train journey.

Day 1: Goa to Hospet

Goa is India's beach and party capital, receiving millions of travelers throughout the year. It is home to churches, beaches, forts, clubs, casinos, and everything you can imagine. From there, the train will go to Hospet, the other half of the erstwhile Vijayanagara Empire (the other half is Hampi).


  • Warm welcome at Goa Railway Station.
  • Enjoy a tour of Hospet, a historical city.
  • Savor the dinner onboard.
  • Stay overnight on the train.

Day 2: Hampi
Day 2: Hampi

Visit the city of ruins, Hampi, a world heritage site. Explore the exquisite architectural marvels like forts and temples, once part of the world's second-largest city under the Vijayanagara Empire.


  • Munch on your breakfast on the train.
  • Visit the city of Hospet and enjoy sightseeing.
  • Come back to the train for a hearty lunch.
  • Spend the evening on the train.
  • In the evening, the train will proceed to Chikmagalur.
  • Have dinner and overnight stay onboard.

Day 3: Chikmagalur

Enjoy the pleasant weather of Chikmagalur on day 2 of the Sojourn of India tour. Feel the fresh aroma of the coffee, as this place is known as the coffee land of Karnataka. Today, visit the famous city of Hospet for a sightseeing tour.


  • Have breakfast and lunch onboard.
  • Arrive at Chikmagalur Railway Station.
  • Enjoy a tour of the coffee/spice plantations and a cultural performance.
  • Dinner will be at a resort hotel.
  • Return to the train after dinner to proceed to Mysore.
  • Overnight journey onboard.

Day 4: Mysore to Bangalore

The tour ends today in Bangalore. First, you will visit Mysore, a city known for its palaces. Bangalore is India's IT capital and has some of the most beautiful gardens in the country.

Arrival in Mysore.
Savor breakfast on the train.
Visit the magnificent Mysore Palace.
Come back to the train and have lunch.
The train will move towards Bangalore.
Have lunch and later deboard the train as the tour ends.

  • Any cancellation must be advised immediately by Email and subsequently confirmed by letter to the Central Reservation Division
  • No cancellation on cancelling 60 days prior to the departure date
  • Retention of 20% of ticket value on cancelling 59 - 45 days prior to the departure date
  • Retention of 50% of ticket Value on cancelling 44 - 30 days prior to the departure date
  • Retention of 100% of ticket value on cancelling 29 days prior to the departure date

  • Golden Chariot does accommodate children but we ask parents to be mindful of the sophisticated adult atmosphere we endeavor to maintain.
  • One child up to 5 years of age shall be allowed free of cost in the Deluxe Cabin, subject to sharing of double bed with parents. This is subject to availability of double bed at the time of booking.
  • For families, with a child between 6-12 years of age, or, with two children with one child below 5 years and another between 6-12 years, we recommend the Presidential Suite which has a double bed in the bedroom and can be shared with a child below 5 years and a sofa cum bed in the living room which can accommodate the older child. In this case, the child/children will be accommodated free of cost.
  • In case of two children between 6-12 years of age travelling with their parents, you will have to take 2 cabins. The first child pays 25% of the adult fare and the second child will have to pay 50% of the adult fare. One of the parents will have to be present with the child / children in the cabin.
  • Please note that we do not have the facility for interconnecting cabins.
  • All applicable taxes will be charged extra.
